My name is Latif Thomas and I’ve been involved in athletics my entire life. In fact, my knowledge of speed development has allowed me to develop countless All-Star athletes, consult with coaches from all over the world and learn from some of the best coaches on the planet.
Here are just a few quick highlights from my proven speed training record:
- 2005 MSTCA Coach of the Year
- 61 Conference Champions, 58 All-State Finalists, 36 Divisional State Champions, 7 All State Champions, 23 School Records, 16 National Qualifiers – All in one sport in just the past 6 years!
- Two Time All-East and All-Big East honors as a Division 1 sprinter (UConn)
- Former Director of Sports Performance at Mass Premier Courts where I ran popular speed camps and clinics for athletes of all sports and age groups
- USATF Level II Certified, NSCA – Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist

Here I am with my 2008 MA All State Champion 4×200 team…

…they also won the 2008 MA All State Title in the 4×100
But you’ll learn from more than just me!
My partner, Patrick Beith, is speed expert in his own right:
Patrick holds a BS in Exercise Physiology and writes a weekly Speed Training Report that is read by more than 60,000 coaches and athletes in over 100 different countries.
In fact, Patrick’s articles and theories on speed training have been featured in major online publications such as SportsSpecific, Elite Fitness Systems, PtontheNet, Successful Coaching, and is an expert author on EzineArticles. Additionally he has written for Men’s Health and Men’s Fitness magazines, has written a book for the USA Track & Field Organization, and is featured in numerous interviews and tele-seminars covering the many elements of speed, strength and power development.
Former manager of the largest personal training department in Boston, MA and creator of their sports training department, he has run countless successful speed camps and clincis covering practically every sport under the sun and holds numerous highly regarded training certifications such as NSCA-CSCS, NASM-PES, ACSM – HFI and two USATF Level II certifications.
Why do I bring all this up?
Because Patrick and I both ‘walk the line’ when it comes to experience and success developing top speeds in the athletes we work with.
